3 days,130 participants, only one goal:building tomorrow’s education!
Questfield said yes to RestartEdu’s challenge from the beginning, 3 years ago. The Community aims to bring together teachers, innovators, institutions, students, parents, social entrepreneurs, NGOs and supporters of a different kind of education. Restart Conference gathered for 3 days, at Cheia, over 130 participants from all over the country in order to find out “how to build together the education we dream at.”
Being at its 3rd edition, RestartEdu Camp brought forward projects and initiatives created in order to bring new educational models in Romania: the creation of a parenting national platform, learning through gamification, creating ways of developing non-cognitive skills at teenagers, implementing a support network for teachers and making a manifesto for education.
Besides workshops during which we’ve created the main pillars of these initiatives, some social entrepreneurs, teachers, students and innovators in education have shared their experiences, remembing to all the participants that big things come in small steps, that teaching, educating, in general, without referring directly to education, it’s about disintegrating, recomposition, self-denial and dedication.
RestartEdu is a unique phenomenon in Romania who managed to gather followers around the country, to develop initiatives and working groups in other cities outside the capital: Timisoara, Cluj- Napoca, Iasi, Brasov, Suceava, Arges, Sibiu, Galati etc. Moreover, the team has increased during this event. The community will be reunited at the next Conference which takes place in the second half of November 2015.
For Questfield, this event was a moment of inspiration, fathoming out the reality of education in Romania, a moment about the contribution that our educational concept has and and about the way it prepares our heroes in order to become change agents, all of these being good case practices for many other educational institutions in Romania.
“RestartEdu Camp is a subversive and constructive phenomenom alike – undermining everything that represents the current paradigm of education, but building and identifying more creative solutions in building the educational context of tomorrow. Initiatives notable exited from projects RestartEdu – Coalition for Education, various educational platforms collaborating with ARACIP, etc. Given the scale of the phenomenon, I expect it to spread in concentric circles, nationally and why not internationally. “said Fabiola Hosu, Head of School at Questfield School.
Restart Edu Camp 2015 was held as assets included into the training and development project of Coalition for Education, financed through EEA Grants 2009-2014, through the NGO Fund in Romania. The project is supported by the Association C4C – Communication for Community, The Romanian Association of Debate, Oratory and Rhetoric, and the Institute for the Development of Education Evaluation.
