The House System

Every student belongs to one of four houses. The houses are named after explorers, since the idea of quest/journey central to the school’s identity. Each house has:

House Captain + House Prefect (student-elected)
Student representatives across year groups
A house colour and identity (logo, flag, mascot)

Houses compete across academic challenges, sports, arts, and service projects. The House Cup is awarded annually.

The House System creates belonging across age groups: a Year 7 student and a Year 12 student share a house identity, and the older student mentors the younger one.

Romanian Line

Grade 5–8

Romanian national curriculum continues with increasing academic depth. Small classes and four pillars mean individual attention through a period when many schools lose sight of students.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Romanian and International lines?

They are two separate programmes under one roof. The Romanian line follows the national (MEN) curriculum in Romanian, with English continuing throughout. The international line follows the British curriculum in English, with a strong Romanian programme. Your child is on one line at a time, not both.

Can my child switch lines later?

Yes. Year 7 is a natural entry point onto the international line, whether your child is moving over from our Romanian line or arriving from another school.

What is IGCSE and when does preparation begin?

IGCSE is the international qualification your child takes in Year 10–11. The groundwork builds steadily through Lower Secondary, from Year 7 onwards, so nothing is rushed at the end.

How does the House System work?

Every student belongs to one of four houses and stays in it across the years – therefore a Year 7 and a Year 12 student can share the same house identity. The houses come together and compete across academics, sport, the arts and service, and it’s a big part of how students feel they belong here.

How do you support teenagers emotionally?

Every teenager has a form tutor who sees them daily, a division counsellor for the social and emotional side, and an older Big Brother or Sister as a peer mentor. The school counsellor is there when something needs more. This support system is built around the reality of growing up, not added on afterwards.
