Job Description
Job Title: Primary teaching Assistant
Reporting to: Class Teacher
Main areas of responsibility:
- Teaching and learning
- Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of the class teachers and Head of Primary
- Supervise and provide particular support for students, or groups of students, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
- Undertake structured and agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities according to pupil responses
- Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs
- Undertake planned and unplanned cover in the short-term absence of teachers in all curriculum areas
- Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher
- To undertake duties as directed
- Administrative duties
- Support teachers in preparation and production of classroom materials
- Ensure that all class materials and equipment are in good, safe working order and stored safely and securely
- Assist teachers with maintaining student records
- Assist teachers preparing and presenting displays of students’ work both in the classroom and surrounding areas
- Assist with the planning and organising of class trips
- Assist with examination administration if required
- Assist and provide support to faculty leader and teachers with student data analysis
- Attend departmental meetings when required
- Other Duties
- To maintain confidentiality and observe data protection (GDPR) and associated guidelines where appropriate.
- Observe all Questfield practices relating to child protection, security, fire and emergency and Health and Safety.
- To understand and comply with all other relevant school policies.
- To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function, commensurate with the level of responsibilities of the post.
- Participate in in-service training as appropriate to role
Training & Health and Safety:
- Take part in the Health and Safety trainings.
Conduct:
- Commit to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students and staff within the school;
- Maintain confidentiality, in accordance with Questfield’s contractual requirements;

- Qualified teaching assistant status
- Successful teaching in a relevant environment;
- Experience of working with a range of ages;
- Ability to teach a variety of subjects;

- Proven ability to identify barriers to learning and overcome them;
