At Questfield
I will be joining Questfield International College in September as a Secondary Science teacher. I will be teaching the IGCSE Science curriculum across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, alongside the Romanian Biology curriculum. My role will focus on delivering engaging and inclusive science lessons, supporting students, and helping learners develop both strong scientific knowledge and critical thinking skills. I am particularly interested in creating a supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and academic progress.
My approach
I believe students learn best when they feel supported, confident to ask questions, and not afraid to make mistakes. In my classroom, a parent would see students actively involved in learning through discussion, practical work, questioning, and explaining their ideas. I like science lessons to feel engaging and interactive rather than just focused on memorising facts.
I also believe every student can succeed in science with the right support and challenge. I focus on explaining concepts clearly, checking understanding regularly, and helping students become more independent and confident learners over time. Most importantly, I want students to leave my lessons feeling curious about science and proud of their progress.
Beyond the classroom
When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my family and friends, going to the gym, and training my dog, which has become one of my favourite ways to relax and switch off. After living in the UK for several years, I really appreciate being able to return to Romania and reconnect with the places and people that mean a lot to me, especially Bucharest, Constanța, and Buzău, where my family is from. One of the most special things for me now is being able to share those places, memories, and traditions with my daughter and let her experience the parts of Romania that I missed while living abroad.
